WHO IS BEHIND Winny Equine ?

 Hi ! I am a medical surgical nurse from the Sunshine Coast and I have had a passion for horses since I was a toddler ! Despite growing up in Noosa and not having any horsey family! I got to the hinterland as soon as possible through school friends and rode and exercised horses for other families. My mum was a single mum and I was the 2nd youngest of 6 children, our family didn't have any money for horses ! We didn't even have a car ! So this always led me to needing to work things out for myself.  I had to ride to pony club in most cases from the paddock (there was no float or family!) and ride back home again. I also had to make my own tack or look after someone else's very well! It was also necessary to train the horse I had because there was no choice for an upgrade or schoolmaster ! I leased horses in my teen years and once bought a horse from a council Auction for $10 ! I travelled to all sorts of outback towns as a late teen all the way to WA. Fast forward a bit and I have competed in (very) low level eventing, pony club and enjoyed lots of trail riding on the fabulous trails we have on the coast with my Australian Stock Horse x Appaloosa Chestnut mare "Talons Rose". I bought her as a young weanling in 2007 and she still owns me today! I was always passionate about training horses, breaking and riding all sorts from my teenage years and beyond ! These days I can appreciate the quiet ones more ! In Covid times, I had a baby and wanted to do something that would help horses and their owners and allow me to work outside of the hospital a bit and still care for my daughter at home ! Winny Equine was born from the family name of my partner and daughter "Baldwin" but now everyone informs me "winny" is the sound the horse makes, which I didn't even think about at the time haha !!!
